A Cup of CAMomille Weekend Self-Care Series Presents… (see below for who Cam is)

Stress, poor hygiene rituals, and toxic hair products can do a lot of damage to our hair, but fortunately we can take little steps to repair the damage. Below are five amazing tips for hair that looks like you just left the salon.

Peppermint oil
A few drops of peppermint mixed with cocoba or coconut oil and rubbed over your roots is the perfect way to stimulate blood flow to the scalp, and supports healthy hair growth. The lingering scent of mint is an added bonus, and sure to put you in the holiday mood.

Go for a trim
Cut off those split ends, girl! Going for a trim every 3-4 months will make your hair appear healthier and thicker. As an alternative to expensive salon fees, you can try trimming your hair at home. Good luck!

Brush your hair everyday
Brushing your hair naturally stimulates blood circulation to the scalp and can be a part of your morning or night routine. If you have children who fuss at the thought of having their hair brushed, then purchasing a quality, child-friendly detangler may be the way to go.

No conditioner on top
Did you know that applying conditioner to your entire scalp could weigh your hair down, and make your hair seem much greasier than it really is? Try to avoid conditioner on the roots and scalp, and apply it only from the middle of your hair down to the ends for a cleaner, classier look.

Only wash your hair a few days during the week
Something I didn’t know for so many years is that washing our hair every day is not only unnecessary, but it’s also not recommended. Overwashing may affect our body’s natural oil production, leading to unhealthy hair. Try washing your hair every other day, and notice the difference it makes. This trick saves water and time in the shower.. woo-hoo!

These are just a few tips you can try for more luscious, healthy hair. But remember…no matter what kind of hair you have, you are absolutely gorgeous. Go you!

Love,

Hi everyone! My name is Camryn, CIO (Chief Inspiration Officer), and I am so excited to begin a new project called Cup of CAMomile Tea with the incredible Dr. Debi Silber (although I best know her as Mom)! As part of this project, I will be writing and sharing blog posts filled with various little knowledge nuggets, tips and tricks, and some very empowering stories and lessons dedicated entirely to your self-care and well-being. Cup of CAMomile Tea was created with the intention that you can spend a few peaceful moments to snuggle up in a cozy blanket, sip on your favorite tea, and read all kinds of simple ways to incorporate even more self-care practices into your busy life. I hope that my content is not only inspiring, but that it gives you the space to relax, to learn something of value, and to at the very least realize that you aren’t alone, even when your life may feel like complete chaos. So put on your fuzzy socks, light a sweet-scented candle, and let’s get started! I can’t wait to see you there.
