Discover Your Journey: A Path to Success and Fulfillment

I thought I had all the answers.

I was striving to become a TV producer in the hustle and bustle of NYC, sharing a tiny one-bedroom apartment with two roommates just to make ends meet.

I was far from being healthy, had no idea about personal development, and believed that happiness was a privilege for a select few.

Do you recall your “Younger You”?

Life takes some incredible turns when we follow our gut feelings. I vividly remember being in Arizona, part of a group power walk led by an instructor, and thinking, “She gets paid to be outdoors and walk with people? Meanwhile, I’m cooped up in studios until 4am, struggling to pay my bills and missing out on the sun. I want to make a difference and explore this whole health thing; how can I do that?”

That desire grew until it became downright uncomfortable. It transformed into frustration, bewilderment, and inner conflict: “How do I switch careers? I invested years in college with a relentless pursuit of a double major, accumulated a decade’s worth of student loans, and know next to nothing about health and wellness. What’s my next move?”

Have you ever found yourself at a similar crossroads?

I flipped through the newspaper (yes, that’s how we did it back then ☺) and stumbled upon a job at Nutrisystem, thinking it might be my initial step into the world of wellness (no comments on that one). One day, my college roommate called me and asked, “Are you bored?” I replied with a resounding “Yes.” She continued, “Want to take a class?” I was up for anything. “How about a cooking class?” I thought that sounded like a great idea. Later, she called back and said, “You know what, let’s turn this into something bigger—let’s become Dietitians.” Brilliant idea! I enrolled in an MS, RD program, but she never did.

To cover expenses, I wondered, “What complements nutrition and fits my schedule?” Initially, I considered becoming an aerobics instructor but dismissed it, thinking, “I’m not coordinated enough.” So, I became a Personal Trainer, connecting with amazing clients, some of whom I still cherish today. This path led me to confront my own health crisis, inspiring me to become a Whole Health Coach, and later, a Functional Diagnostic Nutritionist, exploring the link between stress and disease. I faced setbacks but emerged stronger. Then, a friend suggested pursuing a PhD, igniting my passion for forward-thinking psychology. Enrolling in a transpersonal psychology program transformed me, even though I had no prior knowledge of it.

This unique journey unfolded because of three pivotal factors:

  1. A willingness to embrace change.
  2. A quest for healing, purpose, and making a difference.
  3. Trusting my intuition.

So, what if you decide to follow your intuition? What if a friend mentions something intriguing, and you decide to explore it further? Where might it lead you? Could it be a smooth ride? Probably not. Would it be worth it? Absolutely.

Have you ventured down that intuitive path, leading you to your life’s calling and a life you cherish? I’d love to hear YOUR story. Please respond here and share your journey!
